Created by the Ohara School, we will look at all of the Moribanas, the upright, the slanting and water reflecting. The ‘Moribana’ progresses to three lines and 3 materials. Upright Moribana: typically features materials arranged in a straight, upward direction. Slanting Moribana: in contrast to the straight lines of Upright Moribana, Slanting Moribana features materials arranged diagonally or at an angle. This arrangement conveys a sense of movement and dynamism, suggesting natural elements like wind or flowing water. Water Reflecting Moribana: Inspired by the reflection of objects in water, this form aims to create a serene and harmonious composition. Materials are arranged low in the container, with some extending horizontally over the waterline. You will get to know the different features and characteristics of the designs and put these into action by creating your own arrangement.
