Created by the Ohara School, this class explores Moribana arrangements, focusing on the three primary styles: Upright, Slanting, and Water-Reflecting. Moribana follows a structured approach using three main lines along with three types of materials to create depth and balance.
Upright Moribana features materials arranged in a straight, upward direction, creating a strong and stable composition.
Slanting Moribana contrasts with the upright style by positioning materials diagonally, introducing movement and a natural, flowing feel.
Water-Reflecting Moribana is inspired by reflections in water, with materials placed low in the container, some extending horizontally over the waterline.
This class is open to all levels, with beginners learning the foundations of Moribana, while more advanced students will explore traditional landscape representation using this technique. You will gain insight into the characteristics of each style and put them into practice by creating your own arrangement. All day classes are £50. You will also need to purchase the flowers separately which can cost anything up to £20 extra.
