All-day: Early summer landscape - realistic and traditional

  • Harbridge, Court Barn Lane Chichester, England, PO20 United Kingdom (map)

This class explores the creation of realistic and traditional early summer landscapes, following the precise guidelines set by the school. The materials used for this arrangement are carefully chosen and must be arranged in a specific way to achieve an authentic seasonal composition.

Our focus will be on realistic landscape, a design that builds upon the foundations of Moribana. You will learn about the key elements, variations, and essential techniques required to create a landscape that embodies the essence of early summer. This approach often incorporates Moribana styles such as:

Water-Reflecting Moribana, evoking the tranquillity of lakes and streams.

Near-View Upright Moribana, creating depth and perspective within the landscape.

Using seasonal flowers, we will craft a variety of landscape-inspired arrangements. You will have the opportunity to experiment with different materials while developing a deeper understanding of the principles of Ikebana and how to bring natural scenery to life through floral art.

All day classes are £50. You will also need to purchase the flowers separately which can cost anything up to £20 extra.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

As the discipline of Ikebana follows a strict curriculum, if you are new to Ikebana, you will start at the beginning of the curriculum for any class you attend. You can find the curriculum here.
